The Poetry was awesome, just awesome. This is an outstanding writing, the author truly out her heart and soul in this book. "Gotta have it", is a must read!
VERY GOOD READ FOR A FIRST TIME AUTHORSOMEONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BOOK AND I DECIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE AND NOW I'M GLAD THAT I DID BECAUSE GOTTA HAVE IT WAS ALL OF THAT.
Gotta Read It!!!This book took me back musically and brought be back to the future of entertainment here in Philadelphia. Mrs. Grundy was really on point with this book. The tales of her & her girlfriends struck a chord with me. I finished this novel in less than 3 days. Can't wait for the next one!

The American Heart Association Low-Fat Low-Cholesterol Cookbook: More Than 200 Delicious, Heart-Healthful Recipes for the Whole Family
Published in Paperback by Times Books (January, 1992)
Average review score:

Great Gift IdeaThe recipes include foods that the whole family will enjoy - great for those trying to lower their cholestrol who also have kids. I gave it as a gift to a friend who just had a heart attack at age 40 (better than flowers, and I certainly wouldn't give chocolates) and he enjoyed the recipies so much I'm buying one for myself.

Beginners: Resource Books for Teachers
Published in Paperback by Oxford University Press (October, 1994)
Average review score:

Perfect resource for beginning level classesTeaching students at the beginning level can be particularly frustrating, especially when they know very little English, and you can't speak their language or languages. Most books of ESL activities tend to have a lot of activities for the intermediate and advanced levels. Here is a book of activities exclusively for beginners. In the first part of the book, the author, Peter Grundy, gives the reader a cogent overview of the many variables involved in teaching beginners, then in following chapters gives numerous activities than can be used with students with little or no English. There is even an entire chapter on teaching Roman script. This book has been a great help!

Breakthrough Inc.: High Growth Strategies for Entrepreneurial Organizations
Published in Hardcover by Financial Times Prentice Hall (October, 1999)
Average review score:

This book is more informative than getting an MBA.Breakthrough Inc. was terrific. It was not another recipe book, rehashing old ideas. Instead, this book kept on asking me to stretch my goals, and suggested courses of action I could take that were designed at an MBA level. At times I actually did feel I was taking an MBA course as I visited such technologies as gap analysis, competitive analysis, and innovation analysis. Yet unlike an MBA course, everything was easily understandable and could be immediately applied. This book has already given me specific strategies for making my business more relevant in my market, and more profitable in my pocket.

Mediterranean Vernacular: A Vanishing Architectural Tradition
Published in Hardcover by Rizzoli (October, 1991)
Average review score:

One of My FavoritesThis book is just as the title indicates, one of my favorites. I absolutely love the village type look of the countries in the Mediterranean coast. Since I've travelled throughout various of these places, I've become addicted to their beauty, both natural and manmade. This book, on Vernacular Architecture is something for me to hold on to, when I think of such lovely places, with their tiny passageways, whitewashed walls, and the ocean down below. I first discovered this book in the library, and must have checked it out over a dozen times... Now, I own it, and can't resist looking at it, at least once a day.

The Personal Pregnancy Planner
Published in Spiral-bound by Kate-Hill Publications (May, 1995)
Average review score:

The Personal Pregnancy PlannerThis journal helped me stay organized during the most chaotic time in my life. The planner has four sections, which are divided by the following: medical status, etc. throughout the pregnancy; my journal, which I wrote in daily, keeping track of doctor appointments, etc.; a record of my maternity wardrobe, feeding times, my wish list, etc. and also a section for my baby's immunization record up until the 12th week of life! Thank you for helping me stay on track during this very important time in both, mine and my husband's life. This journal has everything that I ever needed and more, I would recommend it to any woman who wants to stay organized, but enjoy her pregnancy at the same time.

You Always Think of Home: A Portrait of Clay County, Alabama
Published in Hardcover by University of Georgia Press (May, 1900)
Average review score:

A True Portrayal of HomeHaving been reared in Clay County, Alabama, I have read the book more than once. Grundy has done an outstanding job of portraying varying perspectives of life in this rural county which remains filled with people who are genuinely concerned for one another's well-being. While times have changed, the book brings clearly into focus a treasured way of life which continues to exist today in this area. The book consists of interviews with people from a number of different walks of life who have, through their own experiences, a deep love and respect for life in Clay County, Alabama. This book is a heartwarming reminder of times past and present and of the important things in life.

The Oxford Hachette French Dictionary
Published in Hardcover by Hachette (September, 1994)
Average review score:

Outstanding reference workThis is everything a bilingual dictionary should be. Simply the best French/English dictionary out there. I'm really impressed.
AN ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVE!This is the only French dictionary you will ever need. It is so thorough, it's unbelievable. I found words that I couldn't even find in my English Random House or Merriam Webster dictionary - amazing! Including a plethora of slang expressions, as well.
A SUPERLATIVE DICTIONARYThe OXFORD HACHETTE bilingual dicttioary is a superlative work. I am using the 1997 edition and it serves me well as a language enthusiast and a translator. It provides many, many different examples of translations, always easy to find and in the idiomatic language. In the French-English section for instance, the development given under the word TEMPS is just oustanding. One learns new ways of saying things: "Ils sont cruels, témoin le massacre de tout un village." - "They are cruel, as evidenced by the massacre of an entire village." This was interesting: "They have been badly serviced by their advisors" -"Les conseillers ne leur ont pas été très utiles." The various encyclopedic features such as the subject and grammar boxes are very useful. One would have liked a more North American approach, or even Canadian, but that does not distract from the overall quality. It is interesting to find a word such as DÉPANNEUR (convenience store), while one cannot find GUIGNOLÉE or BANC DE NEIGE. It is a modern dictionary, with equivalents given for email (one slight mistake there... MESSAGE PRÉCÉDENT given as NEXT) and such things. Verbs, model letters, etc. One would have liked the use of colour, but the dictionary is still well presented. I have used the Harrap's Shorter and I have the Collins Robert on CD-ROM. This is equal to any of them, it is perhaps even superior. Do not hesitate to buy it.
